- "Lean Manufacturing" provides a work center view in SAP Business ByDesign where simple production templates are created. Both input and output products are defined, as well as cost conversion factors per unit produced. These production templates can be triggered by a sales order or by a manual lean manufacturing task, which starts a lean manufacturing order. When the lean manufacturing order is released, the input products are withdrawn from stock and posted. At the same time, the initial product is placed in stock and posted. All costs for this production process are collected on a project task in order to have an exact cost overview of the "production".
