Iberconseil | SAP S/4HANA
The conversion, which has been a success, has allowed them to have a stable system for new developments long before the deadline proposed by SAP
Iberconseil is a company expert in the distribution and import of all types of European cheeses from
1986, with headquarters in Barcelona and Madrid and a logistics warehouse in Girona.
It manages an active range of one thousand two hundred references from seventeen countries and one hundred and twenty-five suppliers with a staff of twenty-seven people. In 2021, it reached the figure of ten thousand tons of cheese and a turnover of 65 million euros. To guarantee proper functioning, Iberconseil needs to have its systems updated and stable.
Due to its structure, dimension and business typology, ICT projects can only be developed in a
certain period of the year (from February to October). They decided to manage the conversion to S/4HANA in two phases and with enough time after SAP's statement about the end of support for SAP ECC.
- In 2009 Iberconseil decided to migrate its system to SAP ECC, because it considered it was the way to continue developing.
- Following SAP's communication about the withdrawal of support for the SAP ECC system at the end of 2025, Iberconseil decided to plan and carry out a “Brownfield” conversion to SAP S/4HANA.
- Bringing forward the conversion has made it possible to follow its own implementation schedule and have the time and resources necessary to carry it out in an organized and slow manner.
- Have an updated system with the latest versions and existing improvements to manage the business in the best conditions.
- Be prepared for future developments and undertake them from a stable S/4HANA platform.
- Have an updated and robust system, which allows them to maintain a small and very efficient team.
After evaluating different options, they selected the SAP solution for its data reliability and system robustness. The conversion to S/4HANA was carried out due to a technical need proposed by SAP.
They decided to carry out the conversion with SEIDOR, their technological partner, due to their extensive experience and their
global service, always accompanying them from the beginning of the change and suggesting quality improvements.
"Performing a conversion is complicated and, although
there was some incident, we are satisfied with
the start we had. The best thing to have
already made the conversion and not wait until the
end of the term is, without a doubt, the tranquility of
knowing that we have a stable system,
updated and ready for new developments."
