Patatas Meléndez is the leading company in the fresh potato sector with a 20% market share. With just over 270 people making up its team and with more than 500 farmers adhering to its Agrarian Plan from different areas of the country, the company works with the purpose of offering quality potatoes to the consumer throughout the year. Furthermore, it does so through a philosophy that seeks to provide value in each link of the food chain , from its origin in the field to its arrival at the end customer.

Precisely to be ever closer to the origin, Patatas Meléndez has developed a powerful internationalization strategy and has landed in France and Portugal as Meléndez France and Batatas Meléndez, respectively.

Patatas Meléndez is committed to innovation and, in March 2023, inaugurated its new automated and digitalized factory of 21,600 m², a plant that is positioned as a benchmark in the sector at a European level through the most cutting-edge technology and based on maximum efficiency.

• Patatas Meléndez had the challenge of launching the most modern potato plant in Europe (Industry 4.0).
• They needed a powerful tool compatible with their SAP ERP.
• The solution had to include all the necessary technology, offer existing modules functionality in line with Industry 4.0 and provide new modules in the areas that needed them.

• Automation of a large part of the production process, which allows Big Data to be organized, in a single environment and easy to use.
• Greater control of operations and data in real time, which has led to decision making being much more efficient and effective.

• Improvement in the ability to manufacture custom orders, with exquisite traceability from start to finish, which allows it to be delivered in the shortest time possible.

They decided to implement SAP AP R/3 and the PP, MM, SD, CO-PA, CO-PC and LE-TR modules since they offered them everything they needed to launch their new 4.0 plant.
